design statement






100 word statement: Model 5

For this project I’ve used photoshop and a variety of model making materials in order to represent my design options. For example, my 5th model I used balsa wood, aluminium, and cardboard and assisted with lighting and photography enhances the design, mood, and layout I wanted to achieve.  Additionally, digital tools, such as photoshop, enhances these aspects to manipulate the type of and materiality I imagined my space to be. With photoshop I applied 3 different materials, charred and pale coloured timber with painted brick with a backdrop (alpine setting) to enhance my design idea. These techniques created the quality of space as designed.

Through the online tutorial I started to learn how to apply different materials to an object or product I have made by first through applying it to a Stanley knife. Through Russel's tutorial I learnt to apply this to the loft shell model I learnt to do in last weeks tutorial. I applied the materials that Russel used as I'm not the most technical when it comes to these programs and through following Russel's steps I found the whole process of learning this new skill a lot easier.

the next stage wanted us to add more elements to make our room to whatever we wanted it to be.  so what I added is: - a staircase leading to a second bed above the queen size below -light fixture in the ceiling and on the right corner in the first photo -wooden sliding door with little whole that has an interesting play with the light (seen in the third image) overall I really enjoyed this stage since through playing with light it had some really incredble paterns and effects.
